ABOUT CHRIS

Chris employs his extensive operating and executive experience to help advise company executives and corporate boards with regard to strategy, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), risk management, and management team selection and mentoring. For the past several years Chris has worked across a wide range of businesses including health care, pharmaceuticals, personal care, search engine optimization and IT. Previous to that he spent nearly 34 years with ExxonMobil and its affiliates including Imperial Oil. During that time, Chris rose to one of the most senior Refining, Marketing and Engineering executive positions in ExxonMobil. He has a breadth of international experience having lived and worked in Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Americas. He has considerable experience in M&A, supply chain management, and negotiation. In addition, Chris maintains a wide range of contacts spanning Fortune 500 corporations, governments, the energy industry and NGOs. Chris serves as a board member and advisory board member for companies and charities and maintains a wide range of contacts in corporations, government and NGOs.

Chris has experience working with Management Committees and members of the Board of Directors for small, medium and large companies. Chris has worked with many CEOs and executives in formulating and executing long-term strategies by focusing from the outside in and has been involved in a large number of the business restructuring activities. He was also been responsible for operations and project execution for multi billion dollar facilities and capital projects. He brings with him a wealth of experience in relationships with unions, successful government advocacy, boards of industry groups, supplier interactions, and in engaging academia. Throughout his career, Chris has been able to lead large, global organizations to excellence; locate and train talent; and build relationships at all levels to improve behaviors and performance in areas such as safety, environmental improvement, operations, and commercial excellence. During these activities he honed his natural abilities in staying calm, listening to others while never losing focus on his objective.

Chris worked in, managed or was responsible for ExxonMobil refineries in Louisiana, Texas, United Kingdom, Australia and Canada. Chris managed and restructured the Global Security organization for ExxonMobil. Chris held various Vice President roles within Imperial Oil and ExxonMobil. Since retiring from ExxonMobil at the end of 2014, Chris has consulted across a wide range of geographies and business segments growing his perspective and abilities to provide guidance on strategy, M&A, high performing teams, and helping companies accelerate growth.

Chris holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. He presently serves a a guest lecturer on negotiation at the University of Miami School of Business.
